Jose “Pepito” Gomez

BIO

José “Pepito” Gómez was born in a small town called Florida, in the province of

Camagüey, Cuba,in 1971. After a few years of singing with small local bands, he was

accepted as the new lead singer in the orchestra (Maravilla de Florida) band that

He would begin to shape his future career as a vocalist for a 2-year stage.

Later, he moved to Havana, where he was singer and composer for the Orquesta

Charanga Latina, Colé – Colé, Azúcar Negra, Habana Ensemble, founder of the orchestra

Los Que Son Son . He moved to New York City in 2008 and is the founder of the

Guasabara combo, Palo de Yaya and Orquesta Akokan finalists for the

American Grammy in 2018

He is currently working with the Daptone Record label of the city of Brooklyn in the

launch of the second production of the Akokan Orchestra (16 Rayos De Sol) and in his

first independent production (Palo De Yaya).

Gilberto Velazquez “Don Sonero”

BIO

Don Sonero is a lead singer/sonero gifted with the voice and talent that is lifting the genera of Salsa to a new level. He is a lyricist, composer whose original music is a throwback to the past with a fresh, new, modern feel that adds innovative hooks and rhythms and has social messages.

Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Gilberto Velazquez was raised in the South Bronx, New York. By age 14, he had started singing Latin music professionally, his first gig as a corista for Fania legend, Pete”El Conde” Rodriguez. Since then he has worked as a vocalist with over fifty different artists including … Eddie Palmieri, Oscar de Leon, Cano Estremera and Andy Montanez.

He is one of the top young lead singers/soneros of the moment, having front-lined in a multitude of Salsa and Charanga bands, including Orquesta Broadway and Son Sublime, on whose album, “Bailando Con Son Sublime”, Gilberto is the featured lead singer. From 2007 – 2010, Gilberto was part of the Salsa Dura band La Excelencia. He has currently has a new single out called “Casi Casi Perfecto”

Danny Rojo

BIO

Multi-instrumentist, singer, composer and actor. Multi-style musician with performances in more than 30 countries. Universal Music Latin recording artist during mid 1990s and mid 2000s. Born and raised in Cuba with family roots in music, he started playing since the age of 5, began formal studies in music at 9 and turned professional at 17 playing in Havana’s night clubs. In 1992, he moved to the US (based in New York) start playing in the most popular venues of NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami, Puerto Rico and the whole country.

Recorded 5 CDs as solo artist in Latin music. Billboard chart in 1996, 98 and 2000. Nominated for several awards including the Latin Grammy. Music played by radio stations and DJs worldwide and still available in digital format (iTunes, Amazon, Google, Youtube, etc). Produced and collaborated more than 300 albums in different music genres. Founder of his own record label and has performed with some of the biggest stars and bands in Latin, Rock, Metal, Raggae, Jazz and Pop music. Played in several Broadway musicals.

Composed and produced music for films, TV shows and commercials. Has had acting roles in comedy and TV shows. In 2009, he founded the most controversial Latin Rock band known as Pornoson’ with worldwide performances and music sales of more than 250K digital units and still selling. In 2014, he joined MALA ENTRAÑA as bass player and backup singer. The band has performed their ‘Asesinos’ CD across the US and South America. In 2017 he won the “Subterranica Rock”award in Colombia with Mala Entraña as the best International Metal Band and the 2018 Award for the best Metal Bassist at the same awards.

Danny is an ASCAP, SGAE, SIAE Member as a composer and endorsed by Markbass, DVMark. Danny can be seen 5 nights a week at the flaming Zona de Cuba venue in New York where he performs an extensive repertoire of Cuban music as well as music of his own inspiration!
